The Official Publication of St. Mary's Court #498, Wausau, Catholic Order of Foresters
Organized April 28, 1895 -- Our 114th Year.
Purpose: To inform our members of the Court's fraternal activities and upcoming events with the hope that as many as possible will take the opportunity to participate with their brother and sister foresters.
Monthly Meetings: Regular monthly meetings for 2009 are held on the 2nd Monday of each month except in August and December) at 7:30 p. m. at ST. THERESE CATHOLIC CHURCH, SCHOFIELD. We meet in the northeast meeting room in the basement of the Church. The church has an elevator. Each meeting is ended with a prayer for peace for those serving in our military, for those who are ill, and also for our living and deceased members. Lunch and refreshments are served after every meeting. See over for dates of upcoming events.
Roster/Attendance Drawing: Every meeting we have an attendance drawing as well as a roster drawing. The roster drawing increases each month until a member who is present wins. The next winner could be you!
Deceased Members: Two of our members passed on to their eternal happiness during 2008. They are: Carmello Oliva and Phillip Douville. May they and all our faithfully departed members Rest in Peace.
75 and 50 Year Pins: Three members of our Court will celebrate 75 Years of membership in 2009. They are George Blecha, Wallace Sloan and Robert Kucirek. Members celebrating 50 Years of membership are: Joseph Bugni, Joyce Buss, Michael Buss, Joan Folopoulos, Alan Folz, Denis Folz, Janet Gavinski, Gregg Gelhausen, Marilyn Hinz, Edward Igl, Walter Igl, Theresa King, Sandra Malish, Ronald Nonnemacher, Randy Pilatz, Thomas Ourada, Richard Salzer, Cecilia Schraml, Mary Seis, Kathleen Walters, and Andrew Zynda. There were no members celebraating 25 Years of Membership. Local area 75 and 50 year members will be invited to and receive their Pins at our court's family picnic on Sunday, August 2, 2009. Pins to members outside the local area will be mailed. Congratulations to these honored members.
Congratulations to Edward Fecteau and Carol Sliwicki who received the Merit Award for their service to St. Mary’s Court at our Annual Christmas Party and Awards Dinner.
Matching Fund: St. Mary's Court completed another successful Holiday Showcase Matching Fund at St. Therese on November 22, 2009. The raffle ticket sales amounted to $3,420.00, plus the Matching Fund from the High Court of $1,500.00, netting a total of $4,920.00. The $1,500.00 matching fund will be applied towards the Stained Glass Window Fund in the name of St. Mary’s Court #498, Catholic Order of Foresters.
Hospitalized Members: Please notify Bro. Ray Gorski, 675-2475 or one of the court officers if you are or will be hospitalized.
Death of a Member: In case of a death of a member, call Charles Shipway at 842-5765. Chuck will assist you, notify the High Court and start the necessary paper work. Also, you may contact Bob Kucirek, 845-6188 or the Home Office Claim Department at 1-800-552-0145.

Sunday, March 29---St.Mary’s Court 498 will host the Central
Wisconsin Spring District Meeting at St. Therese, Schofield. Mass
at 10:30 a.m. with meeting and dinner following. Call Angie Kucirek,
845-6188 for reservations before March 23rd.
Monday, April 27---Central Wisconsin Legion of Honor meeting and social
at the Stevens Point Brewery hosted by St. Leo’s Court #795, Marathon.
6:00 - 9:00 p. m. Legion of Honor Members only.
Sunday, July 12---Central Wisconsin District Family Picnic at Marathon
City Veterans Park. 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Bingo, refreshments and lunch.
Sunday, August 2---St. Mary's Court #498 Family Picnic at 1:30 p.m.
at Schofield City Park, located just north of the Schofield City Hall.
Bingo, refreshments and lunch.
Sunday, September 27--- Central Wisconsin Fall District meeting at
St. Mary’s Church, Colby. Mass at 10:30 a.m. with meeting and
dinner following. Reservations a must.

Monday, September 28---Central Wisconsin Legion of Honor Dinner and Social at St. Therese Church Schofield. Social at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. Legion of Honor members, their spouse or guest are invited to attend. For reservations, call Bob Kucirek at 845-6188 before September 21st. Hosted by St. Mary’s Court 498.
Thursday, October 8---St. Mary's Court #498, Wausau Joint Installation of Officers with St. Leo's Court #795, Marathon at St. Mary’s School Hall, Marathon at 7:30 p. m. Members, spouse or guest are invited. Bingo, refreshments and lunch.
Saturday, December 5---St. Mary's Court #498 Christmas Party at St. Therese Church Hall. Mass at 5:00 p.m. with social and dinner to follow. Call Angie Kucirek, 845-6188 for reservations by November 29th.
